Thank you, Sis

I recently attended a workshop and the speaker asked a remarkable question. He started with a statement, “Often times, we are encouraged to do something today that your future self will thank you for.” Then he said it, “Ask yourself today, what have you done in the past that you’re thankful for?”

Without blinking an eye, I have my younger sister that tops my list.

Going back home, giving up a car seat, sharing my favourite clothes, buying stuff in her favourite colour, skipping office hours to see her school performance, asking Rampy to sub when I couldn’t bring her to a place, taking a step back when she asks me to and sticking with her (whether she likes it or not). It may look like I am making a list of things that makes me the best sister (no, I suck in general) but it’s actually a list of how Joyce made me effective in life. She’s my eye opener, she sees through me and she inspires me. For everything that I did and still doing for her, I can’t say that she’s the only one benefiting from it all.

When I look up, I thank Him for having Joyce in my life. When I am down, He makes sure I am reminded of having someone that makes me feel good about myself. It has always been Joyce. It’s like she is my good deed for the day — for the rest of my life. So the beautiful things happening in my life right now is because some time when I was younger, I started pouring her a cup of fruit juice before mine and so she stopped grabbing my hair then. 😅 Today, I am extremely thankful to her — for allowing me to be the person she can rely on and for (her) being the person who drives me to do better. I may not always pull it off because of my flaws, she will always be the reason why I will not sell myself short ever again.

I hope you are too, JA! We did good and so you deserve to have a happy, happy birthday! Just like in this 📸, you have my back. You also have my prayers and all those well wishes. I love you, always and forever!
